Through the internet, improved communication and online platforms, people can connect with each other across distances, fostering collaboration, networking, and the exchange of ideas on an unprecedented scale. The research aims to shed light on the power dynamics that shape gender disparities and unequal outcomes within these platforms. It explores how gender biases and discrimination manifest in various aspects such as income, access to opportunities, and decision-making processes. Women in the digital age are navigating a complex landscape that presents both opportunities and challenges. Empowering women in the digital era requires concerted efforts to address barriers, promote digital literacy, ensure online safety, and foster inclusivity. By recognizing and addressing the unique experiences of women, particularly through an intersectional lens, society can unlock the full potential of women's participation, leadership, and innovation in the digital age.

INTRODUCTION 

The digital age has brought significant transformations to various aspects of society. Since the widespread use of emails, chat rooms, public forums, well-known websites, and social networking sites, human connections have significantly improved. The digital age has revolutionized communication, enabling instant global connectivity. Through the internet, improved communication and online platforms, people can connect with each other across distances, fostering collaboration, networking, and the exchange of ideas on an unprecedented scale. Communication has become faster, more accessible, and more interactive, breaking down barriers of time and space. Entrepreneurship has flourished, creating new opportunities for startups and small businesses. Remote work and freelancing have become more prevalent, offering flexibility and opening up employment opportunities beyond traditional boundaries. The digital age has spurred rapid innovation and technological advancements. The ever growing technologies have the potential to improve efficiency, enhance productivity, and solve complex problems in various sectors, including healthcare, transportation, finance, and energy. Apart from this, it has a profound impact on social and cultural dynamics.

The multifaceted dynamics surrounding women in the digital age, encompassing their empowerment, challenges, and future prospects is important to understand. Women have experienced newfound empowerment through increased access to information, education, and opportunities. Digital platforms have provided avenues for women's voices to be heard, enabling them to engage in online activism, advocacy, and entrepreneurship. When seen from the perspective of third wave feminism, electronic media played a part in establishing new connections, rekindling existing ones, and putting one's own views about many topics, including feminism, into practice and public discourse. The internet has democratized knowledge, allowing women to acquire skills, share experiences, and challenge traditional gender norms. Furthermore, digital technologies have facilitated flexible work arrangements, empowering women to balance personal and professional responsibilities. Despite the positive aspects, women in the digital age also face unique challenges. Online gender-based violence, including cyberbullying, harassment, and stalking, continues to be a pervasive issue, deterring women's participation and inhibiting their freedom of expression. Gender biases embedded in algorithms and digital systems can reinforce societal inequalities, affecting women's access to opportunities and representation in technology-related fields. Additionally, digital divides, such as limited internet access, affordability constraints, and digital illiteracy, disproportionately affect marginalized women, exacerbating existing inequalities.

 The research aims to shed light on the power dynamics that shape gender disparities and unequal outcomes within these platforms. It explores how gender biases and discrimination manifest in various aspects such as income, access to opportunities, and decision-making processes. This Part is introduction providing overview about the outline, scheme and objectives of the research paper. Further, Part II deals with the menaces of digital era that have particularly affected women including online crimes, harassments and privacy concerns. It investigates the role of platform algorithms, user reviews, and rating systems in perpetuating gender-based disparities. Part III explores the relationship between technological empowerment and gender justice, with a specific focus on women's access to digital tools and resources.

 It aims to examine the barriers as well as challenges that shape lack of women's engagement with technology and the digital divide based on gender. Part IV explores implications of gendered digital divides and strategies to ensure equity. Importance of digital up skilling and reskilling is discussed and its potential to foster gender equality along with sustainable development. Part V highlights the role of national and international agencies in safeguarding interests of women worldwide in this digital era. Part VI intends to provide insights for policymakers, organizations, and stakeholders to design inclusive strategies that promote sustainable development through bridging the gendered digital divide.

II. Unveiling the Menace: Exploring Harassment and Abuse Against Women in the Digital Era

The digital age has given rise to an array of cyber security threats, including hacking, identity theft, phishing scams, and ransom ware attacks. Cybercriminals exploit vulnerabilities in digital systems and networks, compromising personal data, financial information, and sensitive business data. These threats pose risks to individuals, organizations, and even national security.

 The era of digitalization has raised significant concerns regarding privacy. With the extensive collection, storage, and sharing of personal data, individuals may face threats to their privacy. Data breaches, surveillance, and the tracking of online activities at times compromise personal information/act, leading to potential misuse or exploitation. Balancing the benefits of data driven technologies with the protection of privacy rights is an ongoing challenge.
